You can create a personal profile on this site, including photos. This is nothing new, but you can also add a video message or check the videos of other members, allowing you to make a more personal introduction. You won’t find this everywhere so it’s good to see. But how do you go about finding people you’re interested in? Well there are a couple of ways, and we’ll go into each of them because this is an area which we feel could use a bit of improvement.

You can search for members using the site’s search feature, which allows you to choose a few preferences and sort any members which match those requirements. Frankly, though, we think that the search options aren’t quite as detailed as they could be, with certain attributes or qualities missing, which you can find elsewhere. You can still perform a fairly useful search but it somehow feels underdeveloped.

As well as this, the way in which results are arranged could be improved so that you can browse through members with more speed. As well as searching for a profile, you might want to take advantage of the instant matches options. Essentially the system offers you 5 profiles which it thinks you might be interested in, but which you might otherwise have missed. 

We were very pleased to discover that a lot of the members had uploaded decent photos of themselves, giving you a good idea of how they look in real life. Many members have also taken the time to write about themselves on their profile pages and have updated their information. This is very useful if you want to talk to someone and aren’t necessarily sure what you might want to say. Take a look at the information they’ve provided and see if you have anything in common! You can also create a list of your favorite members so that you can easily locate them in the future and talk to them when you’re next online.

SeniorsMeet is part of the PeopleMedia group, a large community of people who are looking to meet like minded people from all around the world. The site is therefore well organized and, although it might not have the massive membership numbers of mainstream dating sites, you’ll still find that there are plenty of profiles to explore and people to talk with.

If you upgrade your membership to a paid system then you will gain several benefits such as the ability to send and receive messages. This is really necessary if you want to find a date, as the free version is much more restrictive. Upgraded members can also find out extra information such as whether they have been added to anyone’s favorite list. 

You can send email-style messages and take your time replying, or you can chat live using text messages online. The site could be improved though and we’d like to see the search engine options developed. They could also offer a few more communication tools to help you get talking to people, such as video chat, or chat rooms to provide an option to discuss topics as a group.

So, this site does have room for improvement, however it’s still a solid site which ought to offer enough dating options and communication tools for most people.
