Editor's Verdict: SeniorMatch is without a doubt one of the most attractive websites that we reviewed - its slick exterior instills a great deal of confidence, and in many respects this is well deserved. SeniorMatch is controlled by the same administrators as AgeMatch and shares with it its site functions, search capabilities, features, membership structure and even joining fee levels, and as such it scores similarly to its sister-site. As with AgeMatch, the communicative functions on SeniorMatch.com are excellent, featuring instant messaging, email, blogs, private messages and forums. The instant messaging facility pops up automatically when you log into the site, encouraging all users to have a go! The forums, blogs and chatrooms make users feel they are truly part of an online community, and also, make members feel the whole experience is all the more genuine. Verification ensures the safety of all of the members of the site, living up to the site's tagline as one of the safest on the internet. An interesting feature of Senior Match is that it requires a declaration that a new user is over 30. While this is by no means a foolproof way of ensuring members are who they say they are, it may go some distance towards discouraging users that are not serious about finding a meaningful match from using the site. review of the site highlighted that members are not as active as on
other sites. Logging on to the instant messaging facility at a
particularly peak time (early evening) indicated only one other user
online, a figure which is far below that on other similar sites. Its
small active user base is SeniorMatch's greatest downfall, and is
certainly disappointing considering the confident and sleek look of the
site. The lack of active members means that the site is less value for
money than other sites, and this is the primary reason for it scoring
lower than it otherwise would on No1Reviews.com. Nevertheless, its worth a
try if other sites have proved unsuccessful or if you prefer the
